What motivated you to work in veterinary medicine?

My love and compassion for animals. When I was 10 years old I accidentally extracted a botfly from my cat’s neck and thought it was the coolest thing ever!

What has been your most rewarding moment working in veterinary medicine?

Knowing hospitalized animals are well cared for when owners are not there. I love sitting with patients I think are lonely and scared

If you weren’t working at a veterinary clinic, what would you do?

Marine biology

What is the most exotic animal you have treated?

Restrain for a tail draw from Leopard Gecko

What animal scares you more than any other?

Bovine! Weird how they can swallow their tongue when bored!

What do you consider your greatest accomplishment?

Certified Vet Tech at 21 years old

What do you do in your spare time?

Reading, fishing, sometimes golfing or relaxing

What is your favorite comfort food?

Milk chocolate w/almonds

What is your biggest pet peeve?

Overgrown nails on dogs or cats

What animals do you currently have?

3 cats and 1 dog

If you were to come back as an animal, what would it be and why?

Axolotl because they are so cute and creepy – and they can regenerate limbs

What is your favorite childhood movie and why?

Madagascar because I have seen it a million times w/my siblings

What is your favorite childhood memory?

My mother taking my sibling and I to Madison Zoo pretty much every week

What are some things people might be surprised about?

1. I know how to take xrays of a chicken

2. Ironically I am allergic to most dogs, cats, and guinea pigs

3. I hate almost all vegetables

4. I never had any other plan then to work with animals

5. I’ve only ever broken 1 bone in my life: my eye socket
